Vince still plays occasionally around Indy, Dick hasn’t been heard from in years, Ron as far as I know is no longer performing.

Dick Donahue left Indpls in 79 and relocated in Hollywood CA under the name Richard Donahue, He become a songwriter, record producer and novelist and music publisher. In the late 80’s he wrote “It’s the lover not the love” for pop star Tiffany. The song was a single release from the album and sold double platinum. The song also made to Tiffany’s greatest hits album. After 13 years in Hollywood he was offered a position in Nashville Tn and has remained active since 1993

  3. Vince Sanders and I graduated from the “old” Cathedral (Catholic) High School in 1961 and we were both involved in the music program there under the direction of Brother Eugene. Although Vince excelled in guitar, I was the guitar player in the school’s Jazz Band, as Vince enjoyed playing the drums in the Pep Band, Marching Band and Concert Band. After graduation, Vince continued his music studies with the Indianapolis-based legendary, award-winning musicians/composers/arrangers David Baker and Jamie Aebersold (search the internet to discover those two “Super Star” music educators who also made Indianapolis home). Several years after high school graduation and first marriage, Vince joined “The Accents” as arranger/guitarist/vocalist with vocalist Ron Russell and trombonist Dick Donahue. Some time later, “The Accents” signed with RCA records to produce two (2) Long-Playing (LP) vinyl records and traveled extensively t
hroughout the U.S. performing their high-energy, jazz-influenced arrangements at supper clubs, hotel lounges and nightclubs that delighted audiences. I cannot remember the number of years that “The Accents” performed together…nor do I remember what happened to (or where) Ron Russell and Dick Donahue are today (January 2014). I am in irregular contact with Vince Sanders still today. Vince is alive and relatively well now at 71 years old and lives quietly with his second wife in suburban Indianapolis. He remains proud of his children and, as he last reported about three years ago, Vince was delighted to be asked by his daughter to perform music for at a corporate function for her company…with two fellow local Indy musician friends. As a musican far inferior in talent to Vince’s superior musical abilities, At 71 years old myself now, and retired, I now live in Sedalia, Missouri (90 miles east of Kansas City) and continue to perform easy-listen solo guitar background music at mid-Missouri restaurants, civic and corporate events and non-profit fund-raising dinners. Perhaps this information may be helpful to readers here that I posted on January 23, 2014.
